Mónica and Ana Ibáñez, founded GRAVITI ZONE RUGS at the beginning of 2008.

Everyone at the company is young and willing to communicate all their thoughts and ideas. They have a passion for textiles and design and coincidently reached a moment in their career when they decided to take control of their lives and begin doing what they really love.

The company was presented in May 2008 at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York and has been growing ever since, in the USA and even to Europe.

Quality and design are what matters to GRAVITI ZONE RUGS. We especially care for the wool quality, details and the finishing of each of our rugs.

GRAVITI ZONE RUGS has a strong commitment to the craftsmen and artisans she works with; ensuring fair wages, a healthy work environment and no child labor is used in the production of the rugs.

ABOUT THE RUGS

TECHNIQUE
Our rugs are manufactured with the hand tufting technique, which consists of a device with the shape of a pistol that inserts and cuts threads of wool in a cotton base. Wool is fixed to the base with latex. The design is lastly hand cut with scissors to give it the final shape and appearance.

MATERIAL
We exclusively use 100% wool from New Zealand. It is considered the best wool in the world, due to its elasticity, density and strength, which assures that, with the proper care, our rugs keep their quality for many years. The pureness and whiteness of New Zealand wool is particularly appropriate for dyeing and therefore keeps its colour bright for a longer time. It has also been treated against moth infestation.

ENVIRONMENT
New Zealand is the biggest wool exporter for rugs in the world.  New Zealand farmers have perfected techniques for sheep rearing with minimum environmental impact. Wool is a biodegradable and renewable resource, which makes it an excellent material for the sustainability of the environment.

RUG CLEANING
Vacuuming your rug regularly will help you keep it in the best condition. It is especially important to vacuum the rug during the first month to avoid the lint build-up.

In the event of stains, clean the rug with a cloth to avoid the stain from drying and penetrating the fibres. If deeper cleaning is necessary, professional rug clean only.

Mónica y Ana Ibáñez fundaron GRAVITI ZONE RUGS a principios de 2008.

La compañía está formada por gente joven, emprendedora, que comparten las ganas de crear y mostrar las ideas que dan vueltas por su cabeza. Todos tienen en común la pasión por los textiles y el diseño.

La empresa se presentó en Mayo de  2008 en la International Contemporary Furniture Fair de Nueva York y desde entonces ha desarrollado su actividad en Estados Unidos y Europa.

En GRAVITI ZONE RUGS la calidad es prioritaria. Presta especial atención a la elección de la lana, a los detalles y al acabado de cada una de sus alfombras.

GRAVITI ZONE RUGS defiende el comercio justo, certifica que sus artesanos trabajan en las máximas condiciones de seguridad e higiene, así como que no se emplea mano de obra infantil.


SOBRE LAS ALFOMBRAS

TÉCNICA
Nuestras alfombras están tejidas con la técnica del hand-tufting, que consiste de una pistola que inyecta y recorta hilos de lana sobre un tejido de algodón. Posteriormente la lana se fija a la base con látex. Por último, el dibujo se recorta a mano con unas tijeras para darle el acabado final.

MATERIAL
Utilizamos exclusivamente lana de Nueva Zelanda, considerada la mejor lana del mundo por su elasticidad, densidad y resistencia, lo que permite que, con un cuidado adecuado, nuestras alfombras mantengan sus cualidades durante muchos años. La pureza de esta lana hace de ella un material ideal para el teñido en colores brillantes y duraderos. Además, está tratada contra la polilla.

MEDIO AMBIENTE
Nueva Zelanda es el mayor exportador de lana para alfombras del mundo, por lo que sus ganaderos han desarrollado técnicas para la cría de sus animales que causen el mínimo impacto ambiental posible. La lana es biodegradable y renovable, lo que la convierte en un material excelente para la protección del medio ambiente.

LIMPIEZA DE ALFOMBRAS
La utilización del aspirador de forma frecuente le ayudará a conservar su alfombra en perfectas condiciones. Es especialmente aconsejable aspirarla durante el primer mes, ya que la lana puede desprender pelusa.

En caso de manchas, es recomendable limpiarlas con un paño inmediatamente para evitar que la mancha se seque y penetre en las fibras. Si es necesario una limpieza en profundidad, confíe su alfombra sólo a profesionales especializados.
